I was fortunate enough to have the chance to DESIGN MY OWN pair of shoes from Made In Me!
Did you even know that there was a company which allowed you to design your perfect wedding shoe?? No neither did I but I will definitely be making sure other Brides to Be know about them after gaining this amazing experience! The website and product will definitely appeal to shoe addicts, those wanting the perfect matching shoe that they are yet to find and also to Brides! You can choose from various styles, materials and colours and nearly all details are customisable!
When I received my gift box in the post it was clear to see no expense has been spared with the packaging of the gift box! The presentation is beautiful from the luxury feel of the black stylish box to the finishing touch of the bow on the front! Inside were some cards, one with the voucher code to use to purchase the shoes and some to help you along with the website. All notes were easy to read and to the point. I couldn’t wait to get on the website!
The website is very clean and fresh and easy to navigate around. Everything is clearly labelled to where you would like to go and there is also a chat available to be able to talk with an advisor which is a nice touch (although I didn’t need to use this feature as the site was so easy to navigate)
I first familiarised myself with the website and then headed to the designing tab and chose the “from made in me box” option. It then gives you the choice of many different style shoes, ordered by height. As I have a high arch I always go for a good height shoe with a platform for comfort. I would normally go for a wedge heel, but for a more formal style I opted for the platform style 4inch shoes. I really like the criss-cross detailing of the “platform open high heel” so decided to explore that option first.
It firstly gives you the option of the style – either an open round or pointed toe or a peep toe style. I have opted to go for the rounded toe after playing around with the styles. I love the 3D picture animation! It shows the shoe in a 3D form and allows you to see all angles and aspects of the shoe including zooming in and out. I first had to choose whether to have a “toe ornament” where I could choose between a flower, bow, button, vamp tassle, different toe caps or none. After having some fun and looking at the different options I decided to go with a normal toe cap. Alongside choosing a toe ornament you also get to choose the material and colour of the pieces.
There are many different materials to choose from along with the colours, for example suede, soft leather, lacquer as well as more premium prints. Initially I had chosen for the toe to be in soft leather in shade “Antique Pink” but I did later change this to be the “Light Beige”. You also have the option to have a colour for the toe sole which is a very nice feature.
We then go on to the back of the shoe which has three options; Back Straps, Double dOrsay back and cross-over straps, and Double dOrsay back and ankle and side straps. I decided on the cross-over straps as they add stability and another element of design to the shoe, and I also think they look elegant. I then had to choose the material and colours for the back cap, cross-over straps and the buckle. I chose to go for the “Antique Pink” for the back and “light gold shiny soft leather” for the straps and a gold buckle. The reason being that metals are quite fashionable at the moment and light gold is a tertiary colour in my wedding, and blush pink also features in my colour scheme.
Lastly were the soles and heels – it gives you the option of a standard heel or a slightly thicker one. As I shall be wearing the shoes for a considerable time, comfort is an important factor as well as style. I have opted to go for the thicker heel for this reason. I chose the metal light gold soft leather again for the heel and platform and chose beige for the sole of the shoe keeping in with the colour scheme of the shoe. I really like the fact the shoe will look almost like a normal pair of bridal shoes until you see the pop of colour in the back! There are also “premium” materials available at an additional price starting from only £4 which looked amazing, but weren’t quite fitting with my colour scheme!
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole process of creating my own shoe and cannot wait until the finish product arrives! There are so many options to make the perfect shoes to fall in love with and for a customisable piece of fashion I think the price is very reasonable! Perfect as a something new for a bride, or for those Brides who can’t quite find that perfect pair. I believe the product would also appeal to those with special occasions to attend to and those who are looking for a “statement” shoe for their wardrobe and those who want to show their personality through clothing! It has become a bit of an addiction playing around with the website creating shoes feeling like a child in a candy shop.
I would recommend Made In Me shoes to anyone and I can’t wait for my brand new shoes to arrive!
