I hadn’t actually properly thought about it until my Grandma decided to rock up to my wedding in a head to toe black ensemble… and my Mum casually nudged me in the ribs mid group photographs and whispered, “Oooh, she’s wearing black – she must disagree with the wedding!!”
You would normally be expected to wear black to a funeral, as it’s obviously meant to symbolise the fact that you’re in mourning… however, wearing black to wedding is now actually starting to become more and more acceptable. Some brides even choose the colour black for their bridesmaids… despite superstitions surrounding this choice that it’ll bring bad luck to the marriage.
