An Invitation to a Real Wedding – Rachel & Ryan

by Kloe Forster

If you love sunflowers as much as we do – you’ll LOVE this invitation to a real summer wedding!

The yellow sunflowers look so perfect next to the navy suits… we adore the colour combination! Have a read…

How He Asked…

Ryan popped the question down by the river Thames in Kew… Here’s what Rachel said:
“We had our first date down there in Cafe Rouge. We were walking along by the river, just as the sun was setting – Ryan got down on one knee and I screamed! He then took me in to Cafe Rouge, where he had booked the table we originally had on our first date – no one else was on that floor. It was perfect. We sipped champagne on the balcony looking out at the dusk. Just perfect!”

The Ceremony Details…

“We decided on a church ceremony in our local family church; we invited 100 guests and had readings from close friends. We walked out to “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from Toy Story which everyone danced to – it was epic.”

The Reception Details…

“We held our reception at Tudor Barn in Berkshire. For our wedding breakfast we dined on Prawn, Mango and Chilli salad to start, followed by Chicken Provençal with Seasonal Vegetables for our mains, and to finish, for dessert we had white chocolate cheesecake with strawberries. The sun was beaming all day – we were so lucky!
We had a live band for our evening reception – it was literally best day of my life.
We also had a popcorn machine, candy floss machines, giant jenga, photo booths, sparklers, giant dominoes the lot! It stayed warm outside until 11 o’clock at night, so it was a very laid back atmosphere…”

The Wedding Party

“All in all we had 14 – 7 Bridesmaids and 7 Groomsmen. The bridesmaids dresses were from Debenhams”

The Bride and Grooms Outfits

“I found my strapless sweetheart lace dress in a boutique in Windsor.

The groom and all of the Groomsmen wore blue suits with a yellow sunflower buttonhole – the colours looked perfect together.”

Choosing The Flowers

“I wanted to have sunflowers as they were actually the first flowers Ryan ever bought me… He also calls me his sunflower so it suited us perfectly.”

What Stands Out About Your Big Day?

“When we said our vows – I love my husband so much and when we said those promises to one another it was almost as if no one else was in the room…”

What advice would you give to other Brides / Grooms to be?

“Don’t stress so much. It really isn’t as hectic on the day as you think it’ll be.

And don’t let people change your mind about your choices – remember it’s your day not theirs.

Remember – you can’t please everyone…”
