Australian Supermodel Miranda Kerr has shared some of her beautiful wedding pictures on Instagram and we can’t help but feel a little envious of her dazzling Dior Haute couture custom wedding gown.
In a video of her dress fitting, Miranda said that her gown was inspired by Grace Kelly – and we can certainly see the similarities. The long sleeves and the high neck are giving off some serious princess vibes…
Speaking in a video posted on Vogue.com, she said: ‘Grace Kelly was a real inspiration with her dress and how timeless it is.’ She explained to Vogue that it’s “A dress that fully covers you and creates a sense of purity and mystery,” … “I’ve had a lot of fun with fashion, and I used to be more wild, free, bohemian. But in this period of my life, my style is more pulled back. My greatest sources of inspiration have always been Grace, Audrey Hepburn, and my grandmother, who at 80 has an effortless chic: a nice pant, a white blouse, a scarf, a little heel.”
Miranda paired her lily of the valley appliquéd dress with a decadent pearl-encrusted headpiece by milliner Stephen Jones, as well as a full length veil – and all we can say is, wow!
She and her new husband, Evan Spiegel, (the CEO and founder of Snapchat) married in an intimate ceremony in front of just 45 guests, which took place in the back garden of their LA home back in May.
Miranda told Vogue Magazine that she cooked her beau his favourite meal on the morning of the wedding: slow-roasted chicken scented with turmeric and lemon. The rest of their guests also dined on Miranda’s signature dish, which was replicated by caterers.
We can’t imagine many other brides would do that on the morning of their wedding… can you?!
It was also reported that the pair enjoyed an hour-long yoga session ahead of the ceremony – in a bid to calm the bride’s nerves… (they also had their first date at a yoga class so it was pretty apt.)
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel was preciously married to Orlando Bloom in 2013, with whom she has a son, Flynn, 6. Both Flynn and Evan wore Dior morning suits; there was no bridal party, however, Flynn played an important part in the day – serving as ring bearer and joining his mother and new stepfather for the first dance.
Attendees were banned from any social media posts (including Snapchat!) and a white canopy covered the garden to ensure the event was kept private.
Kerr reportedly changed into a second dress, ‘something short and lacy’ that was designed for the second half of the wedding – which included karaoke!
The newlyweds jetted off to Fiji for a romantic honeymoon in the sunshine.
