When it comes to your wedding day, there’s probably going to be a lot more music than you might first expect… in fact, you might be needing to compile your very own wedding soundtrack to get you through the day!
You might not know where to start when it comes to deciding on what songs are going to be best to set the right mood during each part of your special day… Remember that as well as coming up with an idea for a song to walk down the aisle to, you’re probably going to need at the very least another 3 others for the ceremony:
- To play while the guests await your entrance/arrival…
- To entertain your guests/play while you sign the register…
- To walk back down the aisle to as a married couple…
We really thing that choosing songs that are meaningful in some way to you and your other half works best. But, if you’re really not sure where to start, fear not, as we’re here to help you with a few suggestions of our own.
Songs to keep the guests entertained before you come down the aisle…
Before the bride makes her big entrance and the guests are awaiting her arrival/taking their seats, it would be nice to play them a little song to set the tone for the ceremony.
Madness – It Must Be Love
Elton John – Your Song
Florence and the Machine – You’ve got the Love
Adele – ‘Make you feel my love’
Bruno Mars – Marry You
Songs to play while you sign the register…
While you and your other half make things official your guests will be left to talk amongst themselves… so why not give them a nice little love song to keep them entertained – better still, why don’t you get them all to sing along! Just remember to leave the song lyrics on their chair so they know the words…
All You Need is Love – The Beatles
Signed, Sealed, Delivered – Stevie Wonder
How long will I love you – Ellie Goulding
Ed Sheeran – Thinking out Loud
Jason Mraz – I’m Yours
Songs to walk back down the aisle to…
So, this is the part where you want something a little bit upbeat and cheery – your first walk as a married couple is an exciting one and the music should reflect that.
Toy Story Soundtrack – You’ve got a Friend in Me
Sam Cooke – What a Wonderful World
Elvis / UB40 – Can’t Help Falling in Love
Shania twain – From This Moment On
Al Green – Lets Stay Together
Nat King Cole – L.O.V.E
Ray LaMontagne – You Are The Best Thing
