When will The Royal Wedding be?
The Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be held in May 2018, although the actual date is yet to be confirmed.
If you were hoping for a bank holiday for the Royal Wedding, don’t get your hopes up! With Prince Harry being fifth in line to the throne (soon to be sixth in line) it would be highly unlikely that this wedding will come with a day off.
Where will The Royal Wedding be held?
The Royal Wedding will be held at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle as announced by the Kensington Palace official Twitter.
Westminster Abbey, where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge married in 2011 had the capacity for 2,000 whereas St Georges Chapel reportedly has a capacity of 800.
Will Prince William be best man?
Although it is yet to be confirmed, sources have been reporting that Prince Harry’s big brother, Prince William, will be the best man!
William was very excited about the event when he first spoke about the engagement saying ‘We’re very excited and delighted for them both’.
Prince Harry was Prince William’s best man in 2011, so we can only assume the same favour will be returned.
Who will walk Meghan down the aisle?
Meghan’s low profile dad, who has been rebuilding his life in Mexico for the past year, has recently broken his silence on the wedding of his daughter and Prince Harry!
When asked by The Mirror if he would be attending the wedding he beamed “Yes. I’d love to” and gushed that he hopes to walk his daughter down the aisle on her big day.
Who will provide the wedding entertainment?
There has been much speculation as to who will perform at the marriage of Harry and Megan! Rumours have been flying that Ed Sheeran might be the performing artist!
He has just recently been made an MBE by the Prine of Wales.
He told Sky News that he had not been asked, but when asked if he fancied the gig he replied ‘Yeah, why not”. We seriously hope this happens!
So, who’s on the guest list?
Well, although there is no ‘official’ guestlist yet, it would be rude not to speculate, wouldn’t it?
Of course, we would expect to see most of the Royal Family present at the wedding!
There has been a historical link between the Commonwealth and the United States, however, the former President Obama was not invited to the Royal Wedding in 2011 because of the additional security costs that his presence would bring.
There was high speculation that he would be getting himself and Michelle and invite this time after tweeting them to congratulate them on their engagement!
It is quite unlikely that the current President, Donald Trump, will be invited, with sources stating that he is not welcome, yikes!
Meghan Markle has previously described President Trump as divisive’ and ‘misogynistic’ in a 2016 appearance on The Nightly Show.
There are a few of Meghan’s close friends who are rumoured to be attending the event, including Serena Williams, Jessica Mulroney, Lindsay Roth and Priyanka Chopra.
There’s also a chance that her suits co-stars such as Sarah Rafferty and Patrick J Adams (her on-screen Fiance) will be attending.
It’s quite likely that we might see some familiar UK celebrity faces who also attended the Wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge such as, the Beckhams, Ant and Dec, and Elton John!
Due to Prince Harry’s socialite reputation were expecting to see a few of his A-list pals at the wedding such as Ellie Goulding, Chris Martin, Cara Delevingne and Ed Sheeran!
What will the dress look like?
Although Princess Diana and Kate Middleton previously worn traditional white gowns designed by British Designers, it is likely that Megan might choose a non-UK designer for her wedding dress due to her American Heritage!
Markle made an absolutely beautiful (almost) Bride in the US TV show, Suits, wearing a V-necked A-line gown by Anne Barge.
She described her character’s dress as ‘classic and fairytale’, but added ‘I personally prefer wedding dresses that are whimsical or subtly romantic’.
She told Glamour that some of her favourite bridal brands include designer Delphine Manivet, Christos Costarellos, and Elie Saab. J. Mendel!
Her celebrity bridal inspiration comes from Carolyn Bassette Kennedy, who she described as ‘Everything goals’.
So, a lot of things are still yet to be confirmed about The Royal Wedding, but we are enjoying piecing it together! We can’t wait to find out more!
