How He Asked…
“Chris proposed to me after a romantic dinner on the beach in Egypt. It was amazing.”
The Ceremony Details…
We invited 80 guests to join us for the ceremony. The Groomsmen did a hilarious Winnie The Pooh reading which got everyone laughing.
Our Maid of Honour also read – ‘Falling in Love is like owning a Dog’ by Taylor Mali.
The Reception Details…
Our reception was held at Sopley Mill.
We had a delicious 3 course meal consisting of: Bacon and Camembert Tart to start, Chicken wrapped in Bacon with Chive Mash and Vegetables for the main course and we served wedding cake for dessert.
The Wedding Party…
Kerri chose her best friend and work colleague – and asked with a home made scrabble tile picture.
She also asked her 2 younger sisters – after presenting them with a small necklace and poem asking to be bridesmaids.
The groom asked all of his childhood friends as his Best Men/Groomsmen – he asked them all in a WhatsApp group.
The Bride and Grooms outfits…
Kerri wore a Justin Alexander dress and Irregular Choice shoes – she chose her veil from Brides of Southampton.
Chris hired his suit from Moss Bros.
The Finer Details…
Kerri chose roses and gypsophilia for her wedding flowers, because they are pink and grey and white – in keeping with her colour scheme, and quite natural looking.
For favours, the bride and groom opted for Cancer Research pins.
There was a literary theme to the wedding decor, all of the tables were named after a book, and each table had a cute quote and a prop from the book on top of a rustic log piece.
What stands out most about your big day?
“When Rick, one of our groomsmen, ripped his trousers posing for a photo!
Also as we were signing the register – the photographer asked us to kiss and our dog joined in with it!”
What advice would you give to other Brides / Grooms to be?
“Don’t worry about the small things, in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t really matter and nobody will notice anyway.”
Is there anything that you wish you knew before you tied the knot?
“That you have to sign the register with your maiden name… I had to ask!”
