This Makes Us Love Ed a little bit more…

by Kloe Forster

Speculation was rife this week that Ed Sheeran had already married his fiancee Cherry Seaborn in some kind of secret wedding ceremony after announcing their engagement earlier this year.

Ed had been pictured out and about and at a concert wearing a ring on his wedding ring finger which obviously set tongues wagging!

However, it turns out that Ed is actually wearing his very own engagement ring! AWW!

He explained to Lorraine Kelly on Tuesday: “I never saw why men didn’t wear engagement rings,” he went on, “It’s the same commitment either way.”

Fans went into meltdown this week, speculating that the couple had married in secret following their New Year engagement announcement.

AND, it turns out the ring is even more sentimental than we thought, as his betrothed made it for him herself! Ed said: “Cherry made it for me herself out of silver clay – I really like it.”

How unbelievably sweet is that?!

Ed captioned their January engagement announcement photo on his Instagram: “Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx”

The pair are believed to be ‘childhood sweethearts’ after meeting at Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham, Suffolk. It is said that Ed had a crush on his classmate whilst they were at school. However any chance of romance was cut short, as Cherry transferred to America to attend Duke University in Durham, North Carolina where she studied for a degree in molecular biology.

The couple were reunited again around 2015 when Ed was taking a break from music – and the rest is history!

Cherry has been spotted out and about wearing her stunning diamond engagement ring – the sparkler is hard to miss!

We’re so happy for Ed and Cherry and we wish them every happiness together.
